American Voters on Trump’s Handling of Palestine/Israel at Home & Abroad

New York, April 29, 2025 – One hundred days into the second Trump Administration, Israel is losing the support of U.S. voters for its war on Gaza. That finding is among many in a poll of American voters’ attitudes toward the Trump Administration’s policies regarding Palestine/Israel.
AAI commissioned John Zogby Strategies to poll 1,000 U.S. likely voters April 22-23. For comparison, AAI conducted a similar poll shortly before the November election. This April poll includes only those who cast ballots in November 2024, resulting in a slightly greater representation of voters identifying as Republican, in line with 2024 exit polls.
What comes through is that Israel is losing support among its once rock-solid Republican support base. The result is more Republicans now want President Trump to take a stronger stance to rein in Israel’s behaviors, including withholding aid to Israel to end the occupation of Palestinian lands and end the bombings in Gaza and Lebanon. Once more, Republican voters feel U.S. policy is too one-sided in favor of Israel. The April findings demonstrate a substantial increase in Republicans who agree that the president should apply such pressure on Israel. In 2024, the agree/disagree split for Republicans was 37% to 40%. Now 49% agreed that greater pressure should be applied, as opposed to only 29% disagreed.
A plurality of American voters, 44% to 28% polled, also agree with the International Criminal Court’s finding that Israel’s war on Gaza is tantamount to genocide and its decision to issue an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Netanyahu for war crimes. Among Democrats, 54% agreed and only 15% disagreed. For Republicans, it was 38% to 36%.
Regarding U.S. policy, while a plurality of 47% of the voters polled oppose deporting foreign students and withholding funds from universities over allegations of antisemitism, Republicans fall in line behind the administration’s approach to these issues. The partisan split is substantial. Democrats oppose the policy by a 63% to 22% margin, while Republicans supported by a 62% to 21% margin.
Almost the same overall and partisan breakout numbers hold true on the question of the Trump administration’s threat to cut aid to universities over allegations of campus antisemitism. Overall, voters disagree with this policy by a 47% to 40% margin. Democrats oppose it by a 71% to 18% margin, while Republicans support it 68% to only 19% who oppose.
“In a slew of recent polls on President Trump’s first 100 days, what comes through is that in addition to other areas, President Trump is also losing support for U.S. policy toward Palestine/Israel. American voters, even a voter base that is more representative of Republicans, want to see a change in U.S. policy in the region and an end to the suppression we are seeing domestically to shut down advocacy for Palestinian human rights. These numbers speak for themselves, and policy makers should take heed,” said AAI President James Zogby.

نيويورك - التقرير الاردني - خسرت عضو مجلس النواب السابقة، مرشحة الحزب الديمقراطي لعضوية مجلس الشيوخ (سناتور) عن ولاية فلوريدا السيدة ديبي يونس وحصلت على 4,595,000 صوت (نسبة 43 في المائة)، مقابل 5,971,000 صوت لمنافسها الجمهوري ريك سكوت (نسبة 56 في المائة). يذكر ان والد ديبي هو جويدو موكارسيل يونس، من الإكوادور، لكنه ولد في البرازيل واصوله عربية
وفي آب 2023 ، أعلنت موكارسل باول أنها ستترشح لمجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي في عام 2024 ضد الجمهوري الحالي ريك سكوت. وفازت بترشيح , الحزب الديمقراطي للمقعد في 20 أب 2024 ، لكنها خسرت أمام سكوت في الانتخابات العامة. وكانت ديبي وهي عضو سابق بمجلس النواب الاميركي عن الدائرة 26 فلوريدا بين عامي 2019-2021 وهي متزوجة من روبرت باول ولها 3 أطفال
خسارة مرشحة الكونغرس اللبنانية الاصل ناديا دينا مليرون في الانتخابات
نيويورك - التقرير الارني - لم تتمكن المرشحة المستقلة، اللبنانية الاصل، نادية دُنيا من الفوز بمقعد الدائرة الاولى لولاية ماساتشوستس حيث حصلت على 129 الف صوت او 37 في المائة من الاصوات مقابل 63 في المائة لمنافسها الديمقراطي ريتشارد نيل

4 نواب من أصول عربية يحتفظون بمقاعدهم في الكونغرس الأميركي
نيويورك 6 تشرين الثاني (التقرير الاردني)- نجح 4 نواب من أصول عربية بالاحتفاظ بمقاعدهم في مجلس النواب الأميركي الجديد، والذي يشكل مع مجلس الشيوخ ما يٌسمى بالكونغرس. وفاز بالانتخابات التي جرت يوم أمس الثلاثاء كل من: ألحان عٌمر (ديموقراطية) عن الدائرة الخامسة بولاية مينوسوتا وحصلت على 75 بالمئة من الأصوات، ورشيدة طليب (ديموقراطية) عن الدائرة الـ 12 بولاية ميتشغان التي فازت بـ 70 بالمئة من الأصوات. كما فاز دارن لحود (جمهوري) عن الدائرة الـ 16 بولاية الينيوز دون منافسة، ودارل عيسى (جمهوري) عن الدائرة الـ 48 بولاية كاليفورنيا، بنسبة 60 بالمئة من الأصوات. ويمثل العرب في الكونغرس في الوقت الحاضر 6 نواب، وهم بالإضافة إلى الأربعة الذين تمت إعادة انتخابهم هناك آنا جورج عشو (ديمقراطية) عن الدائرة 16 بولاية كاليفورنيا والتي أعلنت مؤخرا عن تقاعدها بعد 3 عقود من الخدمة العامة، وكذلك النائب الحالي غارت نيل غريفس (جمهوري) عن الدائرة السادسة بولاية لويزيانا الذي رفض الترشح مجددا بعد إعادة رسم دائرته الانتخابية. ويبلغ عدد أعضاء مجلس النواب 435 عضوا، تم اختيار
عددهم نسبة إلى عدد سكان كل ولاية من الولايات الخمسين، بالإضافة إلى مدينة واشنطن (العاصمة) التي ليس لها نواب ولها 3 أصوات إنتخابية فقط. وتجري الانتخابات لمجلس النواب مرة كل سنتين على عكس مجلس الشيوخ، حيث ولاية كل عضو 6 سنوات لكن تجري الانتخابات على ثلث الأعضاء مرة كل سنتين، ويبلغ عدد الأعضاء فيه 100 سناتور، بواقع 2 لكل ولاية ورئيسه هو نائب الرئيس الأميركي، حسب القانون. ولم يخض الحاكم الحالي لولاية نيو هامبشير، اللبناني الأصل، كريس سعنونو (جمهوري) الانتخابات مرة أخرى، وهو من عائلة سياسية فهو شقيق السناتور السابق جون سعنونو حيث حكم والده، جون سعنونو (الاب) الولاية ذاتها قبل أن يتسلم منصب كبير موظفي البيت الأبيض.
